Tie Breaks
In case of a tie for the Championship sections they will be classified as Co-Champions. The tiebreak for the New Mexico Barber Representative and Girls State Championship will follow the format below.

It would be heartbreaking for a player to not qualify because of a random tie-break rule! We think that the best way to settle matters is over the board! Players competing will not be able to play in the Bughouse Championship due to time conflicts.

Format
2 players – 2-Blitz G/5 games, then Armageddon game if necessary.

3 players – 2-Blitz G/5 games, High score wins; if 3-way tie occurs, repeat the 2-Blitz G/5 games until either High Score wins, or two Players tied with the highest score; if two Players tie then Armageddon game is necessary.

4 players – 3-Blitz G/5 games, High score wins; if-3 way tie occurs follow 3-player format; if 4-way tie occurs, repeat the 3-Blitz G/5 games until either High Score wins, or two Players tied with the highest score; if two Players tie then Armageddon game is necessary.

5 players – 4-Blitz G/5 games, High score wins; if 3-way tie occurs follow 3 player format; if 4-way tie follow 4 player format; if 5-way tie occurs, repeat the 4-Blitz G/5 games until either High Score wins, or two Players tied with the highest score; if two Players tie then Armageddon game is necessary.

Armageddon game – White 5 min, Black 4:00 with draw odds. No delay.

Note: A coin flip will decide what color he/she gets in the Armageddon game, if necessary.

Electronic Device Policy
We strongly encourage players not to bring their EDs into the Playing Area, which includes the playing room, seating area, spectator area, and bathrooms. US Chess recommends players leave their EDs with their parents or coaches. Players who bring their EDs into the playing room must turn-off their EDs. Exceptions to the restrictions on EDs include chess clocks or approved electronic notation devices.

The New Mexico Denker, Barber, and Girls Championship representative Scholarship

In order to receive the Scholarship you will need to have competed in two NMCO tournaments at least 365 days prior to becoming a New Mexico Representative of the Denker, Barber, or Girls Championship. The New Mexico Girls Championship representative may choose to use the scholarship to compete in either the16th Annual SPF Girls Invitational or National Girls Tournament of Champions. Dependent on the revenue generated, each Scholarship may not exceed 450.00 dollars per representative.
