What a fun issue for New Mexico Chess in this month’s Chess Life magazine.
Our own Grandmaster, Jesse Kraai, authors the cover story, “Chess and Coronavirus”. It has some personal reflections on the impact of social distancing on live action and on-line play. And also a good discussion of the debate on time control; the artistic appeal of slow play versus the practicality of quicker games.
Also, Dr. Preston Herrington of Farmington is the winner of the Lev Alburt column’s “Best Game and Notes Award”. It presents Preston’s nice game against Andrew Thatcher in our 2020 Memorial/Senior tournament. Really good insight in the notes by Preston and GM Alburt.
