I checked out the website Borderland Chess Central. I was trying to see if there is any chess tournaments this year in El Paso. On the site, It mentions Augustine Valverde Chess Tournament Dir. + chess promoter in the El Paso area. I was wondering if he is still involve. If he is, Could he post his El Paso tournaments at the NMCO tournament section? I looked around the web for tournaments in El Paso. And, I came across the Borderland Central. I dont know anywhere else to look. It would be nice if somebody can followup on this director as well as others to see if they’re still involve with the chess clubs in the El Paso area.

The last time I went to a tournament in El Paso/ Juarez area, I was arrested and taken to the Juarez jail. My friend Victor Abeyta, who was the Mexican consul and fellow chess player managed to get me out. My paperwork was apparently not in order. David, there is a home for you in Rio Rancho and people here remember you as the young savant that you are and I have my Masters with minor in Psychology and I would be glad to sponsor you. I’m sure somebody in Rio Rancho would love to have you and your dog stay in their yard. I could sure use your talents and expertise in chess.
