Hello, I have a great idea or suggestion. To help traveling expenses every year to a chess tournament, How about having a yearly event or frequent events in Truth or Consequences, NM. The city is located almost approximately in the middle between Albuquerque and El Paso. In which, Albuquerque and El Paso have active players in those regions. According to www.distancebetweencities.net, The drive from Albuquerque to TorC is approximately 2hrs 13 min. Also, from El Paso to TorC approximately 1hr 48 min.  Other nearby cities would probably benefit like Socorro. Players from Socorro wouldn’t have to travel further to Las Cruces or El Paso for a chess tournament in that region. TorC can help open doors for other nearby cities to start a club. If Im correct, I ve heard from players in the southern region that the reason they cant drive to Albuquerque is because the travel expenses. In which I have to agree with them. The question is How far is someone willing to travel for low to lower or lowest cash awards offered in Northern regions that promote chess  extensively?
