Hello NMCO Community.
I hope the summer time sees us all healthy and happy.
I would like to invite you to take part in supporting two upstanding young men who are taking on a service project this summer to teach chess at a rural school in El Salvador: Jeremy Wesevich and John Bennett. Jeremy and John are each members of the first ever Learners Without Borders volunteer team travelling abroad to teach chess at a school in an under-resourced community. Each of these two young men is working hard to practice their chess teaching skills in Spanish all summer long. Myself and another Learners chess coach, Jack West, will be accompanying them to El Salvador to establish relationships and to secure this community and the organization, Voices on the Border (votb.org), as a regular partner for Albuquerque youth chess leaders to be hosted to spread our love of chess to children and teachers in under-resourced communities. You can learn more and/or make a donation to their effort by clicking here.
